Prof. Han Ding received his Ph.D. degree inMechatronics from Huazhong University of Science & Technology in 1989.Supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Prof. Ding worked atUniversity of Stuttgart, Germany in 1993. He obtained the National DistinguishedYouth Scientific Fund in 1997. He was twice appointed as the leading scientistfor the National 973 Program (the National Basic Research Program) in 2005 and2011. Prof. Ding is currently the the director of State Key Laboratory ofDigital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology at HUST. He was elected a memberof Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013.
